We’re back in the Midlands today and it’s a festival of steam at Statfold Country Park and the Statfold Barn Railway. There are three gauges of track here and yes, they are all running today. Not only this but the variety and number of trains running is insane! Check out the gallery below to get a sense of what was on offer. Luckily the weather was on our side today however it was deceptively cold!

Statfold Barn Railway is recognised as the most significant collection of narrow gauge locomotives in the country. Their collection of locomotives showcases most of the leading British and overseas manufactures, the majority of which can be seen in their splendid roundhouse when not in use.
Since the weather is good today, the Burton & Ashby Light Railways Tram car is also out and running today. It’s kept in splendid condition and the tram driver really looks the part!

From a ride on the Tram, you can see below just how jam packed the services are today…
One of the other main draws is the museum and Roundhouse. Given that there are a lot of locos out on service duty today, I was gobsmacked at how much more there is in the roundhouse. From continental engines, to war time machines, the collection is incredible. I can’t recommend a visit highly enough.
