We’re back at another station on the former Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway, this time at Midsomer Norton South; A small site at present with just a mile of trackbed but with big plans to expand in both directions towards Radstock and Chilcompton. At the time of writing, the line currently runs to a cutting just before the Chilcompton tunnels. These have unfortunately been filled in so the excavation of earth and restoring of track is going to take a huge investment of both time and money. It will be some time yet until services run once again to Chilcompton but I highly encourage a visit to the museum adjacent to the station building which will show the true extend of the work performed so far.
